Babadjou: 42-year-old man discovered in advanced state of decomposition

The remains of a 42-year-old man called Tieutsap Bienvenue were on Wednesday January 11 discovered at a village stream in an advanced state of decomposition by children who went fishing there.

According to family sources, Mr Tieutsap Bienvenue dissappeared four months ago and had never been found.

“My elder brother left some months ago and has never returned. Before he left he was suffering from a mysterious illness that began when he entered picked a wallet containing some huge sums of money,” declares a brother to the deceased.

“I was in Douala when I learned that his corpse was discovered at a river by some school children and brought home by Gendarmes. Since my brother’s illness began, he has been behaving in a strange way saying he would end his life in waters, a thing we were all shocked of when his mortal remains were discovered,” he adds.

His brother also adds that the wallet picked was handed over to their elders for traditional rites but unfortunately Bienvenue had spent some of the money.

“That is why he started behaving as such, he had already consumed part of the money he picked. That was a trap for him”.

Bienvenue leaves behind a wife and 8 children.

” My father has gone and I’m hurt,” says one of his daughters.

Bienvenue’s corpse has been interred this January 12 at his home in Bamendousso, in Babadjou subdivision.
