Muslim Scholar and Activist dares miliatry Buea element to torture civilians in Bamenda

The Bamenda-based Muslim Scholar sent a warning message hours after the military personnel was seen kicking a young man into his car boot in Buea.

Ewume John Eko is the traditional rule of Bwassa, a village in Buea subdivision, South West region. He also works with the Cameroon military as a member of the Rapid Intervention Battalion.

Recently he has taken laws into his hands, torturing civilians with impunity.

“Since you claim you are a foot soldier for the regime, I invite you to try this in Bamenda for 30 seconds” AbdulKarim said.

This anger expressed by Abdulkarim follows the release of a video where someone secretly filmed the BIR element kicking a civilian into his car boot in Buea.

No one knows the whereabouts of the young man.

Ewume John is not in his first crime. He personally films civilians showing how he tortures them with the pretense that he is fighting terrorism. But none of his victims have ever been sentenced by a court for acts of terrorism.

In 2021, Prime Minister Dion Ngute visited Buea at the peak of atrocities committed by the Facebook comedian and symbol of torture. But the PM only told him to calm down his activities.

Has the government consciously allowed the Buea third-class chief to take the law into his hands? This is the question many are asking.

Since the Muslim Scholar dared him, it is not certain if he will accept the challenge and move to Bamenda to torture a civilian in the view of everyone.
