Wode Maya Seeks Five African Stories Worth Wider Recognition

Ghanaian digital creator Wode Maya is seeking five stories of Africans whose work deserves wider recognition through a new collaboration with the NotWaiting campaign.
Launched October 25, the initiative focuses on people addressing challenges, building businesses and developing solutions within their communities.
The campaign seeks stories about entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives and community organizers whose efforts may be better known locally than beyond their immediate surroundings.
Wode Maya, known for documenting African businesses, cultures and communities through his YouTube videos, has built an audience by showcasing people and initiatives from across the continent.
Africans have been encouraged to discuss nominate themselves or someone who should be spotlighted.
His partnership with NotWaiting extends that focus, with the initiative seeking to identify five African stories that merit greater attention beyond their communities.
CNA understands that the project operates under Opportunity Africa, an initiative of Africa No Filter, an organization working to challenge stereotypical narratives about the continent.
Its regional focus includes West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa and French-speaking Africa, with the aim of bringing greater visibility to the people and initiatives shaping communities across the continent.
