Makondo-Ngwei: One Security Guard Injured In Cargo Train Derailment

Douala,Cameroon-July 26,2017-7:30 pm Local Time(Cameroon News Agency) CNA is reliably informed that one person has been injured following the derailment of a cargo train around Makondo in Ngwei sub division some 24 km from Edea town in Littoral region late Wednesday.

Reports say the train which had 9 coaches derailed with 4 filled with Fuel going off rail. Unconfirmed report say the wagons were not properly tied to the locomotive.

Surrounding residents who rushed to the area to get fuel were prevented from doing so by security forces.The accident occurred between Messodo and Eseka.

The train was heading to Yaounde.
