History shall have no mercy on them if they don’t drop their arms-Lele

The Governor of the North West region, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique has once again advised separatist fighters to drop their weapons and join the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, DDR centre.

The Governor made the statement on Wednesday July 12, 2023 during his address at the 11th session of the North West Regional Assembly in Bamenda.

While addressing the regional councillors and representatives of various communities, Adolphe Lele emphasized that there is only one chance for all those who are still holding weapons in the bushes:

“It is a golden opportunity for each and every one of them to grab. They do not need to be told again today that they are on the wrong side of history, which history shall have no mercy on them if they do not drop their arms as soon as possible.”

The representative of the state tasked the regional councillors to sensitize the population on the importance of the DDR centre.

The President of the North West Regional Assembly, Fru Angwafo challenged Members of Parliament, Senators, Mayors and Councillors to champion peace and development initiatives in their communities.

“We need total peace for development to follow. Sure, peace and normalcy are steadily returning to the region but it is obvious that there is need for unanimity in order for the entire Region to gain its full serenity.”

The June session of the North West Regional Assembly will run till Friday July 14. The session is focused on evaluating various projects carried out and discussions on the budget and community projects for 2024.
