UMS President Goes ‘Mad’ After Defeat In Cup Final

By NFOR Hanson NCHANJI

Yaoundé, Cameroon-Monday December 11, 2017-1:00 AM Local Time (Cameroon News Agency) It was a rough night for players of Union Movement Sportif of Loum, UMS in Littoral who were just fresh from a defeat in the final of the Cup of Cameroon by New Stars FC Sunday December 10. Angered by this defeat, the President of the club, Pierre KWEMO got to the hotel in Yaoundé where his players were lodged and asked them to evacuate that moment.

It was a spectacular show in front of the hotel as UMS President who doubles as Mayor of Bafang in the west region stormed the premises demanding all players to leave. He is said to have also asked them to refund all newly acquired equipments given to them before the match against New Star.

The Loum guys who were yet to digest the 0-1 defeat got angry at the action of their President and threatened to beat him up. They raised the issue of unpaid salary and match bonuses which seems to have escaped from the Presidents lips, sources say Mr Kouemo is usually hot tempered who hires and fires coaches and players at will. He has even been nicknamed ‘the boxer’.

UMS of Loum was beaten 1-0 in the final by New Stars to lift the trophy; the lone goal was scored by Alain Nandougang at the 42nd minutes. New Stars will represent Cameroon in the upcoming CAF confederation cup while league champions Eding FC will play the African Champions League.

Close aids say there was a misunderstanding between the players and that the information was a sabotage towards his personality insisting that some players voluntarily decided to go back home after the match.
