Boko Haram kidnaps three NGO workers in Kossa, Cameroon

Three humanitarian workers with the French NGO Premier Urgence International, have been kidnapped by Boko Haram fighters in Kossa, Far North Region of Cameroon.
The kidnapped Aid workers whose names we got as Djenabou Gambo, Tedonfoue Cabrel, and Ahmat Ali are based in the Northern city of Maroua, and had the misfortune of falling on the jihadist on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
They were abducted not far from the military base of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR while monitoring children suffering from malnutrition.
The locality of Kossa has been known for being insecure since the start of the war against Boko Haram, with more than a hundred people killed and several kidnappings.
The Boko Haram – Cameroon war dates as far back as 2014 with stories of incursions, deadly raids, abduction. The asymertic war sometimes gets low momentum and with a twinkle of an eye, the terrorists resurface. , launching attacks targeting bases of Cameroonian army.
Faced with these reoccurring dangers, president Paul Biya, reorganized his staff and deployed aboutvsix thousand men in the Far North region, including two thousand elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR, a military unit and Elites. On nearly four hundred kilometers of border, these men repel every attack launched by Boko Haram.
