Police nabs 12 suspected bandits in Douala

12 suspected armed bandits arrested by members of the Douala Judicial Police recently in the course of an operation were presented to the public on Wednesday September 20, 2023.

They were accused of burglary and terrorizing the populations of Ndogpassi, Village and New Bell neighborhoods frequently.

“Following several complaints we received from the populations of New Bell, Ndogpassi and Village, we mobilized our elements for a special operation to get hold of these hoodlums who have been giving the inhabitants sleepless nights. We succeeded and during interrogation, they explained to us their modus operandi. They threaten their victims and shatter windscreens of vehicles to steal”. Edou Arsene Essono, Chief in charge of the Judicial Police anti gang unit explained.

During their presentation, stolen items, weapons and military gadgets they used to operate were displayed at the Judicial police premises.

” After searching their hideouts , we found in their possession two daggers, military gadgets and lots of stolen moto parts.” Edou Arsene said.

All the suspects between the ages of 20 and 34 were sent back to their cell, for their subsequent presentation before judicial officials at the Douala Military court.
