New twist in Bamboutos FC’s grievances as club accuses FECAFOOT of manipulation

By Stephen Tadaha

In a twist of events concerning the withdrawal of Bamboutos FC of Mbouda from the Elite One Championship, the club has accused Fecafoot of attempting to manipulate the population of Mbouda.

In a statement signed on Friday April 18, 2025 by the club’s President Delegate, Dechateau Kamdoum, it is indicated that FECAFOOT emissaries approached commercial bikers in Mbouda and offered them FCFA 8 million to cause public disorder.

The accusations come after failed negotiations between the club and FECAFOOT, leading to the club’s decision to withdraw from the championship. The club cites concerns over social peace and potential bloodshed, given the alleged agitators’ goal of destabilizing Cameroonian football.

In the Friday statement, Bamboutos FC strongly condemns Fecafoot’s actions, describing them as “unacceptable” and “irresponsible.” The club calls on all parties committed to peace and justice to take responsibility for preserving the interests of national football and social cohesion in Cameroon.

This development may have significant implications for Cameroonian football, potentially affecting the championship’s stability and future. The Federation has yet to respond officially to these allegations.
