According to the United Nations annual report on child protection, children are more exposed to child violation, firstly because of their vulnerability, and also because they are exposed to unthinkable forms of violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect, affecting their survival, growth, and development.

The Ministry of Justice in partnership with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF, seeks ways to better educate actors with instruments to tackle, protect and promote the rights of children.

The Minister Delegate ito the Miniser of Justice, Jean De Dieu Momo, was speaking while chairing the opening of the two-day workshop in Yaounde.

According to the Minister Delegate, they are striving to protect these children from all forms of violence in society and to keep them safe.

“We know that a child is the future of our nation, and are always victims of violence. Domestic violence, violence in schools, and violence between themselves, and adults. We have to make sure that they are well protected. This is why we are training the people concerned,” The minister Delegate said.

During this training, experts will exchange notes on ways to implement legal protection, strategies on how to get victims and witnesses of violence to speak out, as well as management of minors in prison.
