Man Without Family Dies in Kribi Hospital

KRIBI, SOUTH REGION – A man named Atua Lawrence has died at Kribi Baptist Health Center.
“He came to our health center yesterday afternoon with a severely painful leg and we immediately began treatment of his leg. He told us he is from Kom and we got one of our staff who is from Kom and he spoke Kom with him but we tried finding out his quarter in Kom but could still not get to anyone from the area” a medical staff at the hospital told us.
“Unfortunately, this morning, he died around 4am this morning and we have no idea what to do since he had no ID card, no phone of his own and no phone number of someone in Kom whom we could contact. He only told us that he is a lumberjack (chainsaw man) but even when we asked for the contacts of those with whom he was working in the forest, he couldn’t provide us with one”.
Staff at Kribi Baptist Health Center are hoping that Atua’s friends and family can reach out to them or the Kom community in Kribi to make arrangements.
