Buea: 17-Year Old Accuse Of Murder as Father Dies Under Unclear Circumstances

A 17-year-old boy living at Kawa Street, Bomaka Buea, South West Region, has been accused of poisoning hi father last week, CNA has learned from diverse sources.
The wake keep before the burial of boy’s father who was popularly known as “Abakwa” took place on Tuesday November 9, 2021.
During CNA’s investigations, neighbours and others at the scene gave different versions of stories relating to the man’s death, but all pointing to a premeditated murder.

According to one of the sources, the teenager who was already into “scamming” received directives on a mobile application to kill his father to make much money. He is said to have put mobcap insecticide in his father’s food.

While eating, the poor man complained of stomach-ache and the next minute, his mouth was foaming. Before the family could take him to the hospital, he had died.

Our source also told us that apparently the operators of the mobile application refused the young boy’s sacrifice and told him he was supposed to kill his dad by stabbing and not poisoning.
His fears and frustration led him to a witch doctor who gave him charms to prevent his father’s spirit from torturing him. The witch doctor demanded he rubs his father’s face and body with the charms at the mortuary.

He got to the mortuary and demanded to see his dead father but the mortuary attendant refused him entry and asked him to come with an elderly person.
After monitoring and questioning the young man for a while, the mortuary attendant decided to raise an alarm and that was how the boy was brought home to Bomaka and beaten to near death.

The food his father left was given to a pig earlier that day and the pig died. It was then his younger brother who opened up and said he saw his elder brother dropping something in their father’s food.

The family has not made a statement on the matter. The Police in Buea have detained the young man.
