Tense Tuesday In Ndor, Munyenge And Kurufin
Bamenda, Cameroon-Tuesday March 6, 2018-9:40 PM Local Time (Cameroon News Agency) It has been a marathon Tuesday for inhabitants of Munyenge , Moungo Ndor and Kurufin , all in the South west region following theft and exchange of shots between Military and Forces loyal to pro-independence activist of Southern Cameroon. CNA brings to you all the events as they unfolded.
Early Tuesday , some six armed men stormed some financial institutions in Munyenge, Muyuka subdivision in Fako division, South West region, robbed from the institutions and vanished.
This evening, locals say forces fighting for the restoration of the State of Southern Cameroon stormed Munyenge in retaliation of the theft incident, they reportedly burned the house of one of the thieves and set ablaze belongings of another, when they discovered that he had tenants. The target was his house.
Munyenge has witnessed serious exchanges of shots between Cameroons defense forces and restoration forces causing workers of credit unions to vacate the area.
Meanwhile Military stormed Moungo Ndor village, situated 20 KM from Nguti subdivision in Kupe Muanenguba division, South West region, ransacking homes as locals fled to bushes.
Contrary to previous military invasion of villages, they met an almost empty village after locals got news of their coming.
It is reported that they were searching for members of restoration forces of the state of Southern Cameroon.
There was serious exchange of gun shots at Kurufin a neighboring village in South Wets region that border between NWR and SWR region, between restoration forces of Ambazonia and Cameroons security forces.
Kurufin is in South Wets region but easily accessed through the North West region.
Inhabitants from Kurufin run nearly almost all their activities in the NWR.
