Cameroon-COVID19: CPP Demands Drastic Measures From Gov’t

The National President of the Cameroon People’s Party, CPP, Edith Kah Walla on Thursday, March 19, 2020, said that the government must inform Cameroonians about the resources available and the possibility of carrying out large-scale tests as the number of positive cases continue to rise.

Key points:

The government needs to make special arrangements for health care workers and all other frontline workers;

-The government must consult with the private sector, in this case, the informal sector, to analyze the economic impact of the pandemic;

-The government must consult with electricity and telecommunications operators to ensure availability and access to services at reduced costs;

-The government must adopt the budget, economic forecasts and economic decisions to this reality;

– The government must negotiate new partnerships for health care”.
