PCC New Synod Clerk Assumes Office, Moderator Offers Thanksgiving

By E. Nadesh

As the pope is to the Roman Catholic Church, so is Rt Rev Fonki Samuel to the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC. For the second time, the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon Synod and the Christians have entrusted the leadership of their Christian fold into the hands of the devoted man of God. The Moderator used the start of a new mandate to offer thanksgiving to God on the sidelines of the Induction of Rev. Miki Hans Abia as the Synod Clerk of the PCC on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the esplanade of the Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary School in Buea, southwest region.

The occasion which brought together hundreds of pastors, PCC Church authorities, government officials and Christians both home and abroad, also saw the commissioning of some 14 new executives of the PCC, sharing of gifts to an Internally Displaced Persons, traditional dance, choral singing from different choir groups and other interesting activities.

Drawing inspiration from the books of Romans and John, the PCC Moderator reiterated the need for Christians to be united, especially in perilous times like the current soci0-political situation in the northwest and southwest regions. The message he themed as ” Wake up, watch out” is coming at a time when “Popular opinion is accepting wrong as right” and so Christians should be steadfast in prayers and strive for unity among themselves.
