Zambia-born Mitwa Ng’ambi has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of MTN Cameroon.
MTN Cameroon, a subsidiary of the South African telecommunications giant made the announcement June 30 on its Twitter handle. It stated that Ng’ambi will take over from South African Stephen Blewett who served in that position for two years and was now “leaving @MTN Group for other career opportunities…”.

Ng’ambi who assumes office effective September 1 will be leaving MTN Rwanda where her leadership there saw MTN Rwanda being listed on the stock market, tremendous digital penetration and the creation of its Fintech subsidiary.

Outgoing CEO Stephen Blewett who is also a helicopter pilot has not made public what career options he intends to follow but MTN Cameroon chairman, Colin Mukete thanked him for his leadership since 2020 and welcomed Mitwa Ng’ambi, saying: “…We are confident that her experience, exceptional leadership skills and expertise will benefit MTN Cameroon and its stakeholders. We wish her success in her new role as we execute our ambition 2025 strategic priorities.”

Recently several Caneroonians have taken to social media handles to decry weak internet services offered by MTN.
