Unisport gets 5 million fine, Victoria United awarded 3 points
The homologation committee of FECAFOOT has fined Unisport of Bafang the sum of F CFA 5 million.
The committee has also decided to give Victoria United football club all 3 points on the match pitting the Limbe elite two club against Unisport of Bafang, which took place on February 12, 2023 at the Bafang municipal stadium.
The decision was taken after fans of Unisport stormed the pitch and molested match officials when a controversial penalty was blown against their club. The match ended prematurely at the time when Unisport was leading 1 – nil. The committee has taken the decision after suspending the said stadium since February 13.
The additional 3 points means that Victoria United will remain top of the classification table with 26 points, which is a boost as their aim is to qualify for elite one this season.
In another press release, the committee has also temporarily suspended some referees and assistants who officiated Stade Renard vs Renaissance, UMS of Loum vs PWD Bamenda and Gazelle vs Dragon matches for failing to carry out their duties properly.
