Victoria United crowned 2024 Elite One champions

Victoria United of Limbe have been crowned winners of the 2024 Elite One championship following a 2-2 draw against Stade Renard of Melong on day 7 of the playoffs.

The last playing day required that either Stade Renard win or Victoria United get at least a draw to clinch the league title.

The Limbe-based club got the draw, ending the race for the title by finishing top of the championship.

The accomplishment at the Mbappe Leppe Stadium in Douala, was hard-fought as OPOPO came from an early lead to snatch a draw, after Stade Renard had stepped ahead with goals from Victor Ngobara Ndongmoui and Debi Zemanga Kotazo.

Wilfried Nathan’s equalizer adding to Dze Ebua Gilbert’s opening goal, handed Victoria United their first-ever Elite One title.
