Ulrich Chomche declares for 2024 NBA draft
Cameroonian NBA prospect, Ulrich Chomche from Bafang in the West region, has officially declared he is entering the 2024 NBA draft.
The 18-year-old NBA Academy Africa center who stands out for his size and defensive strength, takes the decision after drawing attention in the past two years of his career.
Chomche has played with the Cameroon national team, participating in the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers.
He debuted with Cameroon’s FAP basketball club in 2022, and later moved to Rwanda Energy Group (REG), before joining Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Basketball (APR), where he plays presently and competes at the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Analysts have said Chomche’s move is “daring”, given the unpredictable nature of the 2024 draft. No names have made headlines yet as possible top picks.
However, Chomche is considered one of the highest prospects of his generation from Cameroon, since Joel Embiid in 2014.
