UBA Cameroon Hosts Co-Branded Card Micro Finance Institutions, Partners Conference

UBA Cameroon communed with 56 co-branded card partners in Douala on Thursday 9 August 2018. It was an opportunity to create an open platform where partners can exchange in a bid to resolve issues, propose solutions, share best practices and also get training on some innovations in the financial sector.

This special event was hosted by UBA Cameroon, who has for the last couple of years increased its business collaboration with Micro Finance Institutions, notably in the sales and marketing of Visa Prepaid cards.

Addressing the MFI executives who answered present in their numbers, Marguerite Atanga DMD of UBA Cameroon heartily welcomed them and thanked them for remaining steadfast in this mutually beneficial relationship. She went on to reassure them that UBA as a partner is determined to satisfy its partners and customers which is why listening to them is top priority. “The raison d’etre of this get together therefore is to exchange ideas on how to move the business forward and make it profitable for both parties,” she reiterated.

A presentation was  projected, championed by the Digital Banking Sales team led by Didier Gnahoua UBA CEMAC Regional Head Digital Banking and Gides Tsimene UBA Cameroon Head, Digital Banking Sales. It was an opportunity to present the different aspects of the partnership and also new solutions destined to improve the relationship with the MFI partners. Valuable contributions were also presented by the Risk, Retail & Transaction Banking and MCC units.

This was loosely followed by a very interactive session with the participation of the MFI partners who engaged the team with many questions, comments and suggestions. On a whole, they were very elated with this great opportunity to be able to share with UBA Cameroon on the existing partnership. They called on the bank to continue such initiatives going forward.

The DMD of UBA Cameroon Marguerite Atanga reminded all the partners that this marked a new era in the partnership with the MFIs. She also encouraged openness and close collaboration which will be necessary for success of this partnership. The strong relationship with Micro Finance Institutions is part of the bank’s commitment to render banking services available to people from all works of life.
