By Stephen TADAHA

Within the space of twelve days, the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe has withdrawn the driver’s licenses of two drivers for a period of twelve months for seriously breaching the highway code.

The first suspension contained in a decision taken on October 15, 2024, concerns the license of Mr. Tchuitchou Njouenke Hilaire which has been withdrawn for a period of twelve months for overlapping the continuous line, dangerous overtaking, refusal to comply and non-compliance  of the speed limit.

A few days before, Mr Ayissi Afila Marc Marcelin also had his license withdrawn for the same period, according to a press release from the Transport boss signed on October 3, 2024.

During the suspension period, each of the drivers is prohibited of any driving activity.

Faced with the increase in road accidents which are transforming Cameroon’s roads into veritable “death traps”, the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe, recently intensified repressive measures against negligent drivers.
