The Guardian Post condemns ‘hardened criminal’ treatment of its publisher
The Publisher of The Guardian Post, Ngah Kristian, was released on Wednesday night after spending 10 hours in detention, the newspaper revealed.
According to a communique, Gendarmes dressed in mufti, are said to have tricked security guards at the head office of the newspaper, that they were Council agents. But once they gained access into the building, they arrested Mr Ngah over a “fake cover page story” which The Guardian Post said they never wrote.
The fake cover page story, which the Guardian Post suspects was created by Ambazonia Separatists
The arrest came two days after gunmen suspected to be Ambazonia separatists from Mamfe, killed at least 25 ( government sources) on November 6, 2023.
But The Guardian Post said they are not aware of such a cover page, presenting the original one that was published by the media house.

The lone English-language daily newspaper in Cameroon said, that for the past six years, “ill-intentioned” individuals have been spreading fake cover pages, claiming to come from them.
TGP also frowned at the treatment meted out to its Publisher who was left with no water, and not food like a hardened criminal at the State Defense Secretariat in Yaounde.
