State forces attack village after losing five men

Mbakong and environs were attacked last Wednesday after five government forces were killed in an IED attack set up by Separatist force.

On Wednesday December 20, 2023, there was an explosion along the Mile 24 road linking leading to Wum in Menchum division from Bafut in Mezam division in the North West region.

Five government forces: three soldiers and two gendarmes died in the attack.

Angered by the death toll, government forces attacked the area and allegedly killed and arrested civilians.

CNA learned that there is a manhunt to trap down Ambazonia forces from Bafut who are suspected to have carried out the attack.
