On Saturday, April 26, 2025, youth from across the Southwest Region gathered in their thousands at Bongo Square, Buea, to declare their unwavering support for H.E. President Paul Biya’s candidacy in the October 2025 presidential election.
Responding to the national youth leaders’ initiative to raise 30 million FCFA to sponsor President Biya’s candidacy, Southwest youth proudly became the first region to present their quota of 5 million FCFA. The symbolic contribution was officially handed over to the visiting National Youth Leaders Committee during the grand rally.
The Regional Organizing Committee, comprising of young MPs, mayors, regional councillors, and Traditional Leaders, Corporate Managers, Youth political party official had as spokesperson, Hon. Malomba Esembe, MP for Buea Urban.
The event was graced by top dignitaries, including Ministers Nalova Lyonga, Victor Mengot, and Paul Tassong, Vice President of the Senate Nfor Tabetando, the Governor of the South West Region, the President of the South West Regional Assembly, Senators, MPs, mayors, and business leaders and a host of other elite.
Highlights of the event included a 100-taxi parade through Buea, loyalty declarations by youth representatives from all divisions, a political education session, and official speeches reaffirming the youth’s trust in President Biya’s leadership.
In a symbolic gesture of hope and commitment, the youth pledged to continue championing peace, unity, and development under the guidance of the Head of State.
