Policewoman stops traffic, starts brawl at Biscuiterie Yaounde
By Hans Ngala
A policewoman who was on duty controlling traffic in front of Nso Boys agency in Yaounde has assaulted a civilian for “disrespecting her”, CNA has learned.
According to a CNA source who witnessed the incident, the policewoman was controlling traffic when she signaled for cars to stop and a gentleman on a bike saw a narrow opening between some cars and went for it. The policewoman then stopped him and got a plank which she hit the bike rider with several times.
“She tried to get a taxi to put the man inside and take him to the police station, but all the taxis just drove past” our source explained.
“The bike man’s brother then came and intervened and stopped the policewoman from forcing the man into a car” our source further clarified.
“This particular woman already has a reputation for being abusive to people. Today was her day to meet her match as the population all rose against her” our informant added.
He went on to narrate that other police officers who were passing by also joined their fellow policewoman in trying to push the bike man into a car but the population refused to let that happen and the ensuing brawling stopped traffic at the already-narrow road at Biscuiterie Biyem Assi.
