Police officer beats Sabongari man to near death, DO calls for calm as angry population besiege Palace
Ngianden Robert, a young man from Sabongari village in Nwa Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division in the North West region, is recovering from a brutal attack that left him without three teeth, CNA gathered.
The victim was taken to the Bafoussam regional hospital for treatment after a Police Officer rough handled him over an unknown issue.
On Sunday, December 4, 2022, things escalated in Sabongari with the speed of light as other businessmen and bystanders came to the rescue of the victim who had gone unconscious.
Addressing the population of Sabpngari who staged a march to their traditional ruler’s Palace, the Police Commissioner assured the angry population that part of Robert’s hospital bill will be paid by the Police Officer who committed the act. he also said the said Officer will be punished for the barbarism.
Ngianden Robert who went unconscious for more than one day only regained his senses midweek.
This is happening a few days after a secondary school teacher and two of his friends almost lost their eyes from punches they got from the same Policemen at a place called “Washington snack bar”.
The Fon of Ngom Palace in Sabongari has called on his people to remain calm and await the punishment promised by the Police Commissioner.
