PCRN MP Nourane Foster creates drinkable skin beautifying liquid, another high-level skin bleaching?
The collagen-based beautifying drinks were created in January 2022. According to the owner of Nourishka Comestics, the new product when taken as a drink will beautify the consumer’s body, remove enzymes and add more vitamin C.
The 34-year-old businesswoman and Parliamentarian with the Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation, PCRN, has been at the center of criticism since the introduction of her bleaching drink “Boissons Embellissante Nourishka” the new brand of products launched in January 2022, is composed of vitamin C, collagen, glutathione, and enzymes all components which give the skin a fair complexion, according to her explanations.
Since the arrival of these products in some pharmacies in Douala, many Cameroonians have condemned the MP for promoting skin bleaching “A parliamentarian who is expected to vote laws that protect consumers is rather exposing women to danger in her line of business” a social media user said.
Going by the 2020 statistics, 25-67% of Cameroonians are affected by skin bleaching with the majority being the female gender. The drinks are in high demand by women who crave to look younger and lighter in skin color though many are yet to comprehend with government silence “Who signed the authorization for these products to be sold in markets? On what basis?”
Honorable Nourane Foster amidst widespread condemnations has assured the products are certified and has even signed some social media influencers and actors to it.
