Limbe: Chiefs displeased with “disregard” of late Njalla Quan’s image

A group of 21 traditional rulers in Limbe, have jointly called on football stakeholders spewing insults on Henry Njalla Quan Jr’s late father to stop.

In a memo expressing their dissatisfaction, the chiefs said they have been following “with apt attention the ongoing squabbles between our son Henry Njalla Quan Jr and some other persons operating in the football sector of our country”.

Henry Njalla Quan Jr resigned from the Cameroon Football Federation as fourth vice president in July, raising concerns over corruption and mismanagement within the Eto’o-led administration.

Thereafter, animosity grew between his camp and other opposing football actors in the South West. He once accused Victoria United president, Valentine Nkwain, of desecrating his late father’s image with “demeaning” utterances.

The Limbe chiefs conference of traditional rulers in their memo, regret that the late club owner is being attacked “even at death and his corpse promised to be transferred to Ghana by non-indegenes of our land”.

“We hold that this is not only a direct attack to the immediate family, but also directed to us the custodians of our customs and traditions that we are” the chiefs said.

They have called on the persons concerned to make amends “as soon as possible”, by complying with their demands which will be sent “at the appropriate time”.

Two traditional market days have been allocated for the individuals to present themselves at the chiefs’ conclave. No names have been mentioned.
