The statement was made at the end of the June session at the upper and lower houses of assembly.

Senate First Vice President, Aboubakary Abdoulaye on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, urged whom he described as “enemies of the Republic” to drop their arms and answer favorably to the peace call of President Paul Biya.

Meanwhile, at the lower house, Honorable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril has told parliamentarians to re-enforce peace calls in various constituencies so that armed men could lay down their weapons.

The June 2022 parliamentary and Senatorial sessions ended on June 6th with the adoption of 7 bills among them the authorization of medically assisted procreation. The bill sets guidelines for persons who practice invitro and surrogate conception.

The parliamentary session was also marked by the protest of some opposition leaders while government officials promised to be more rigorous in respect of deadlines for public contracts.
