By Charity Nginyu

Bâtonnier Mbah Eric Mbah, the President of the Cameroon Bar Association, has vehemently denied recent allegations circulating on social media claiming he commented on financial impropriety in the management of football funds by the government.

In a communique released to the public, Mbah clarified that he did not make any statements or declarations on the management of football finances, nor did he grant any interviews to media outlets on such topics.

The allegations, attributed to him, have been described as fabrications from ill-minded detractors aimed at tarnishing his reputation and office.

“The President of the Cameroon Bar Association, Barrister MBAH Éric MBAH, by this communique, draws the attention of the general public to a certain write-up being circulated on social media allegedly emanating from a certain Oussmanou Yakoubou alias Benji 2 Infos regarding commentaries on financial impropriety in the management of football funds by the state and stock of Billions found in a minister’s residence,” the communique stated.

Tensions between the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and the Sports Ministry have escalated recently, with FECAFOOT rejecting the Ministry’s appointment of a new coach and technical team for the Indomitable Lions.

The Bar Association President went ahead to distance himself from any involvement in the ongoing dispute, emphasizing his commitment to ethical conduct in all endeavors.

Mbah condemned the perpetrators of the fabricated write-up and urged media users to exercise due diligence in verifying information before dissemination.
He also reserved the right to track down and seek redress against those responsible for spreading false information.
