Ndop: Separatist fighters return corpse of forester, after two days in the bush

Separatist fighters in Bamali village in Ndop, Ngoketunjia division finally returned the corpse of a forestry guard, they seized from the family days ago.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the corpse of Tchombong Maurice, a Forester who recently died in Yaounde was seized from his family, when they were traveling for burial.

CNA learned that the casket was confiscated and taken to an unknown location together with 12 family members of the deceased.

A source said the main reason behind the act was for the family to pay money. Meanwhile, some said it was because the man was a Forester.

We learned the corpse and kidnapped family members were only released on Sunday night upon payment of an undisclosed amount.

In a video that circulated on social media, a separatist group known as ‘black lions of Bamali’ said they masterminded the act.
