MTN Elite One: Eto’o promises F CFA100 million for the new season champions
FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o Fils has announced that the winners of the 2022/2023 MTN elite one championship will get F CFA 100.000 million as prize. This was disclosed during a concertation meeting in Yaounde this August 5th 2022. F CFA 50 million will be given as their cash prize and another F CFA 50 million for their participation in the continental champions’ league tournament.
Prior to the kickoff of the 2022/2023 football season in Cameroon, it was agreed that the 11 team per group format will be maintained in league one championship and the last two in each group will be relegated to the second division.
For this upcoming season, each team will get a subvention of F CFA 48 million from which F CFA 5 million will be used by each club to create under 15 and under 17 teams.
The league one championship is expected to kickoff on October 15th 2022 and will run until April 2023 with a break observed in November due to the world cup tournament.
Meanwhile the league two championship will begin on October 29th 2022 while the cup of Cameroon will kickoff in March 2023.
