A total of 14 teams are expected to emerge from this round and play the third and last qualifier round in March 2023. The indomitable Lions of Cameroon after their away victory 3-2 against Angola in Luanda last week, will be expected to confirm their supremacy in the return leg this Sunday, October 30th in Douala. In case the boys of Guy Feutchine win this second round, they will face the winner of the game between Madagascar and Gabon in the third round.
Renewal of basic structures at Sports Federations in Cameroon
The minister of sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has in an October 26 circular letter, extended the deadlines to November 3, 2022, for candidature files to be deposited and November 10, 2022, for the start of elections at various Sports Federations.
The pre-electoral conciliation will be ensured by the follow-up committee of the Electoral process, instead of the Cameroon Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) and the Cameroonian National Paralympic Committee (CNPC) as was the case in previous circulars.
These modifications according to the sport’s boss are due to many grievances aired by actors implied in the electoral process.
After governing these Federations for about a decade now, the government has been seeing the need for changes to be done at the bodies. The reason why the minister for the past months has been at the forefront with heads of these Federations, is for them to organize free and fair elections that will revitalize the sports community in the country.
