Mbengwi: Three thieves escape police custody

Three inmates who were being held in detention at the Mbengwi Central Police Station in Momo Division in the North West Region in connection with a theft, have escaped from custody.

The suspects are: Njuakang Dieudonne, Tibi Deone and Arouna Liliasah.

According to information from local sources, the suspects were rescued from mob justice by the police after they were caught at Mile 17, Mbengwi.

While investigations were underway, the trio who are accused of aggravated theft in homes reportedly escaped from the cell, early on Thursday November 28, 2024.

CNA learned security forces launched a search operation to track down the escapees.
The population of Mbengwi has also been called upon to collaborate with the security forces.
