Major general sent in retirement after challenging Territorial Administration Minister
Major General Ngambou Esai has been sent on retirement by President Paul Biya. Though e general is never retired, Cameroon’s status as the second division implies a technical retirement whereby, a general who is not in active service is kept on hold and can be remobilized and consulted if in need. But it is as good as forgetting about him. According to the law, such instances can only be possible in case of ill health, age limit, or indiscipline.
This comes barely a week after he challenged the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji.
Last Sunday in Church during discussions concerning the rejection of an application to operate a faction of the Evangelical Church of Cameroon, the Major General lambasted the MINAT boss, warning that where he has appended his signature, Atanga Nji should tread with caution. The Major General warned Atanga Nji to stay off Church activities.
