Longue Longue urges gov’t to dimiss top military officials for torture
The Cameroonian Makossa musician Simon Longkana popularly known as Longue Longue, has urged the Cameroon government to dismiss two of its top ranking military officers who allegedly ordered for his arrest and torture in 2019.
Mr. Simon spoke on French media, TV5 Monde, days after the video wad released.
In the video, which CNA obtained, Longue Longue could be seen being tortured by men from the military security, semil in Douala, Littoral region.
Longue Longue could be seen crying and begging on them not to beat him, promising not to criticise president Paul Biya again.
The head of military security, Emile Bamkui and the head of the Littoral branch, Ben Tabala, are said to be the two brain behind his torture.
“They should be dismissed from the force,” the golden award winner said.
Contextually, the Musician was arrested for saying that opposition figure, Maurice Kamto won the 2018 presidential elections against president Pual Biya. The latter was declared winner.
Longue Longue said even if they put the two men to run simultaneously, Kamto will still win.
