Limited concrete, staff slowing works between Babadjou and Bamenda road- Committee
Stakeholders have been reflecting on better ways of overcoming major difficulties that might hinder the progress of works on the stretch.
This was the main reason for a meeting held on Monday, July 18, 2022, between the minister of public works, Emmanuel Ngannou Djoumessi, and the stakeholders involved in the execution of works along the stretch that linos the West with the North West region.
Discussions centered on how to overturn insufficient concrete from the production site of Santa, and the lack of staff at the control mission. These difficulties have slowed down the rehabilitation process, the committee said. They also projected that in the months ahead heavy rains will start pouring.
The minister of public works, called on BUNS, the company in charge of rehabilitating the stretch from Matazem to the “Welcome to Bamenda signboard”, to hasten the rehabilitation of critical points, prevent the degradation of already rehabilitated areas, and increase the production of concrete along the road.
Works on the section Babadjou – Matazem has been executed at 13% and the deadline consumed at 23,52%.
