Kwifo suspends farming following Fon’s disappearance

The traditional authority, Kwifo of Mankon has addressed a letter to the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam officially announcing the “disappearance” of Fon Solomon Angwafor III.

In it, the palace authorities explain that the official announcement will be made on May 29th and so it is customary for farming activities to be stopped for a month. This includes any form of digging or tilling of the soil. With the farming season on course already, however, the suspension will this time last only a week starting from May 30th to June 5th.

Fon Angwafor III’s “disappearance” was first made public on May 22nd. He was the 20th paramount ruler of Mankon and also served as Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement vice-chair. He was also a Member of Parliament from 1962 to 1988. He quits the stage at the age of 97.
