Foumban: 10 textile shops vanish in flames

Just a day after the separatist attack of Njitapon in the Noun division that led to the killing of 9 special forces, and elements of the defense and security forces, Foumban, the capital of the division was at the centre stage as wild flames in the wee hours of Thursday consumed at least 10 textile shops at the town’s main market.

The Sultan of the Bamoun people, Nabil Mbombo Njoya, informed of the incident, immediately descended to the site to take note of the situation. No human life was lost but there was huge material damage.

The origin of the flames remains unknown meantime investigations are ongoing to shed light on the situation.
