French embassy offers DGSN protective equipment worth 117 million FCFA

Colonel Christian Broudin, internal security attaché to the French embassy in Yaounde, oversaw the handing over of the consignment of police equipment donated within the framework of activities aimed at boosting France-Cameroon relations.

The gift received by the Secretary General of the General Delegation for National Security (DGSN), Dominique Baya, consisted of 75 bulletproof helmets, 75 bulletproof jackets and four drones.

“It will enable police officers to work conveniently in high risk zones.”

Col. Broudin said they are more concerned about the officers in the Far North region who are fighting the Boko Haram. “It will protect the police officers to better do their work and protect the population” the French attaché said.

He indicated that special training will be organized in 2024, to further drill police officers on how to properly use drones and other sophisticated equipment.
