Babadjou: Man electrocuted to death while electrifying house

A man aged about 25 was electrocuted to death in Bamendousso, Babadjou Subdivision in the West Region in the evening hours of Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Witnesses who rushed to the area said Valdez was electrocuted while carrying on some electrical works in a house he had rented, after waiting in vain for his landlord to do so.

Valdez according to eyewitnesses, before the tragic incident, had insisted on doing the electrical connections himself that evening despite the multiple warnings given him to patiently wait for the next day. He finally gave up the ghost after being transported to the hospital following the electrocution from a high-tension cable.

Valdez was from Baligham in the Santa subdivision of the North West Region and was a worker at the construction site of the Babadjou craft center.

His remains were taken to his native village awaiting burial.
