Former Janitor, Rachel Keke, beats Sports Minister in France Paliamentary elections
Cote d’Ivoire born Rachel Keke, 48, makes history in France as the first woman formally in domestic work to win a palarmentary seat and over former Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu, from President Emmanuel Macron’s Ensemble alliance.
“I am the vioce of the voiceless. I am a maid, i am a cleaner, security guard, care assistant, home helper. I am all these invisible jobs. And at the National Assembly. And at the National Assembly, these jobs will be visible” Rachel told the press after her remarkable win.
She will represent the constituency of Val-de-Marne located in the Ile-de-France region at the National Assembly.
President Emmanuel Macron has lost absolute control of the Parliament with Rachel’s vote.
