Female security guard found dead inside classroom in Bamenda

A private security guard was found dead inside a classroom at a primary school in Bamenda Monday.

Anyam Esther, a native of Pinyin was on night guard duty at a primary school in the Azire New Church neighborhood of Bamenda II Subdivision when she was discovered lifeless inside one of the classrooms.

The discovery was made after Esther’s colleague arrived at the school to take over from her and was unable to locate her.

Sources told CNA her colleague repeatedly called Esther’s phone, but the calls went unanswered. Concerned by her unusual silence, he alerted the management of the private security company that employed her.

A team initially went to Esther’s residence in Nitop, where she was said to be living alone. However, they reportedly found the house locked.

The company’s supervisor later contacted the headmistress of the school and obtained the keys to the school premises.

When the premises were opened, the team searched the classrooms and made the shocking discovery. Esther was found lying dead inside one of the classrooms.

The circumstances and possible cause of her death have not yet been established.

Her remains have been deposited at the Bamenda Regional Hospital Mortuary.
