Thieves attack, kill man in Yaounde

Unknown men are said to have attacked and killed a young man in the Carriere neighborhood in Yaounde, Center Region.

Inhabitants of the neighborhood made the macabre Thursday, December 21, 2023 as the corpse of a man was lying by the roadside.

According to witnesses, the man was on his way to the market to sell his goods before he was attacked and killed.

A tense atmosphere characterized the environment with many in fear and panic. Alerted, security officers arrived and calm the situation.

CNA was not immediately able to get his name but learned that the man hails from the Kom village, Boyo division of the Northwest region.

The Carriere neighborhood has been known in the past years to be a dangerous quarter harboring thieves and criminals. Very little is said to have changed since the coming of a Gendarmerie in the neighborhood.

This and many other attacks come as the country is preparing for the festive celebrations.
