Essou Marinette’s attackers each risk ten-year jail term

The four girls have been charged with private and public indecency, theft and defamation among others on the person of Essou Marinette, a 24-year-old girl they assaulted in Buea- South West region of Cameroon.

After the announcement of a public hearing on September 2nd 2022 at the Buea court of first instance in the coming weeks, a lawyer of the plaintiff -Essou Marinette said the accused ladies Neris Ayuketang and three others risk a 10-year sentence each.

Neris and Co. on June 8th 2022, trapped Essou whom they accuse of having an affair with Dieudonne Assi, Neris’ husband. Essou Marinette’s hair was shaved off with a bottle, she was beaten, pepper applied in her private area and she was later asked to parade the streets of Molyko naked. These attrocities were videotaped and posted on her social media handles. This sparked outright condemnation and a counsel of lawyers seized the case.

The assailants were questioned the Police and they confessed to the crimes before being taken to the Buea Central Prison pending trial.

The girs recently took part in a dance competition at the Buea prison

Neris Ayuketang and her accomplices will know their fate in the coming days.
