Bamenda: Armed robbers attack bar, make away with savings

Receptionists working in a snack at Commercial Avenue, Bamenda, were on Tuesday morning October 18, 2022, robbed of their weekly savings.
One of the victims said the robbers had planned and came just on time when they were about to transfer their money into a safe place “We usually save our weekly sales around that time. We came this morning and my sister told me that the money on the counter was too much and we needed to save it.”

The arrival of the robbers was timely as she further narrates that “as my sister took out the money and made way for the door, 3 men stormed the shop. The one with a gun stood by the door”.

The lady further narrated to CNA that “one of the men told us that they have dropped support letters here more than twice and we have not responded, so they have come to get the support themselves.”

“One of the robbers hit my sister on the head. Lucky enough, she was putting on a wig so she was not injured” continued one of the victims.

Workers at the shop resumed their daily sales though in a sad atmosphere. The amount collected remains undisclosed.
