Dschang Mayor wages war against illegal sales of Council stamps

The mayor of Dschang council in the West region, Jacquis Gabriel Kemleu Tchabgou revealed in a communiqué signed on October 17, 2023, that, the revenue-generating machinery of his council is getting paralytic, as a result of poor morals of some unidentified persons. He revealed that there has been rampant and illegal sales of communal stamps to the population out of the council premises.

“This act by certain individuals is in violation of the law in force, thus causing enormous harm to our municipality in the collection of stamp dues.” Stated the Mayor in the communiqué.

As a way to blacklist the phenomenon, the municipal authority instructed the population of his municipality to get stamps only at the council office.

“I have the honour to ask you to kindly acquire municipal stamps only at the council office, as part of the preparation of official examination files for the 2023/2024 academic year. To this end, I and my deputies will carry out the prior verification and systematic serial numbers of municipal stamps affixed to the
files submitted before any certification” Assured, Mayor Jacquis Gabriel Kemleu Tchabgou.

In order to avoid any inconvenience following the aforementioned check, the
The mayor urged the entire educational community of Dschang to ensure
scrupulous compliance with this correspondence which essentially aims to secure the council revenues.
