Dschang: 16-year-old commits suicide

A 16-year-old student whose name CNA got as Pavel Ange Dongmo, is reported to have taken away his own life in Nzembing, a vicinity in Dschang, headquarters of the Menoua division in the West region.

The lifeless body of the student in the class of 4ème in the French subsystem of education, was discovered hanging on the frameworks of their family house by his mother, Tsafack Victorine, when she returned from market and she immediately alerted neighbors.

On a table at the scene, was a letter the deceased teenager left before taking his life in which he reveals that he could not bear the treatment he received from his mother after he returned from the village days ago.

Close sources say Pavel had left their family residence for a one-week trip to their village without informing his mother. While in the village, the boy allegedly stole money and clothes before returning to their family house in Dschang last September 17 and was scolded by his mother.

The state prosecutor accompanied by the commissioner of the second police district station of Dschang and medics were at the site and results of investigations are awaited.
