Douala: two human bones traffickers arrested

Elements of the Mobile Intervention Unit (GMI) in Douala, have arrested two men with bags containing human bones which were transported from the North West to the Littoral region for commercialization.

According to security sources, the bones were taken from Babessi “they passed through Foumban” GMI commander – Zacharie Owona indicated.

The culprits tried to dissimulate their merchandise in bags of corn and garri, but did not succeed to deceive security forces.

“We arrived Foumban at around 3:40 pm and took two hours to get to Douala, but on arriving at the agency, the Police asked to check us, because we were dressed like scammers,” one of the traffickers said.

From his explanation, he introduced his accomplice to the business. “I told my friend that I have someone in the village who is into a certain business. He asked me which business I was talking about and I told him, human bones”.

The traffickers said a kilo could cost around seven million FCFA, according to what their supplier told them.
