Comfort Mussa Appointed as DearYou Ambassador to Lead Women’s Health Initiative in Cameroon

YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon — Journalist and women’s rights advocate Comfort Mussa has been appointed as a volunteer ambassador for DearYou, a global women’s health awareness initiative of The DEAR Foundation Switzerland, the organisation announced Wednesday.
The appointment marks a strategic expansion for DearYou in Central Africa, focusing on Cameroon’s unique bilingual environment and established media networks to broaden the reach of accessible health information.
As an ambassador, Mussa will lead efforts to engage media outlets, participate in public forums, and facilitate community-level conversations. The initiative aims to strengthen health literacy by encouraging women to seek reliable medical information through culturally sensitive communication channels.
“Access to trustworthy health information is essential for women’s dignity and autonomy,” Mussa said. “DearYou’s approach aligns closely with the realities women face in Cameroon, where dialogue, trust, and cultural sensitivity are fundamental.”
The DEAR Foundation Switzerland emphasized that its model relies on collaborating with trusted local leaders to ensure health dialogues are grounded in community realities.

“Our collaboration with Comfort Mussa reflects our commitment to supporting women with respectful, accessible information while recognizing and strengthening existing community leadership,” a foundation representative said.
The initiative comes at a time when local voices are increasingly viewed as essential for fostering informed dialogue on women’s health issues across the region.
DearYou is a global initiative providing women with accessible, culturally adaptable health information via a free multilingual app.
Supported by international volunteer ambassadors, the program promotes early detection and informed decision-making across Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. It strengthens health literacy by helping women recognize symptoms and access trusted resources.
